Hotel and Setting

The Palmerston Golf resort and Spa is siutatd between the vineyards next to Il Picciolo golf club. From resort you have spectaculair views of Mt. Etna. Walk out of your hotel into the lush gardens, under the big chestnuts and around the impressive lava rocks surrounding the golf course. Being on the slopes of Mt. Etna it is worthwhile visiting Europes most active volcano and it's protected nature reserve.

Il Picciolo golf club is also only ten kilometers from the best Sicilian beaches. The fishing town of Aci Trezza, the sandy beaches of Giardini Naxos and the rocky formations on the coast of Taormina should not be missed.

The golf course is well-kept and very challenging. The somewhat narrow greens are beatifully designed on this hilly course. Especially during the week it is usually not very busy at Il Picciolo, so you have plenty of time to practice your golf tecniques and enjoy the nature and vineyards surrounding the course.

Dinners are included  in package. For lunch you can use the restaurant of the clubhouse that serves local specialities, traditional recipes and famous Etna-wines. For other restaurant options you might like to go out to the mediaval village of Castiglione on 10 minutes drive or to the slightly larger town of Linguaglossa, gateway to Etna.

Catania Airport is only 1 hour from Il Picciolo Golf course. Also the romantic town of Taormina, 'Pearl of the Ionian sea', with its winding streets full shops, restaurants and bars is a great night out.
